What Happened to Kalpana? South’s famous singer, Kalpana Raghavendra, is in the news right now. She was admitted to a private hospital in Hyderabad yesterday. There was a discussion on social media that the singer had allegedly attempted suicide. She was found unconscious in her house. Recently, Kalpana’s daughter Daya Prasad Prabhakar denied the rumor of her mother’s alleged suicide attempt in a press meeting. Now singer Kalpana Raghavendra has also clarified and put forth her point in this matter. According to a PTI report, the singer has clarified that she accidentally took sleeping pills due to insomnia.
According to reports, the PTI report has confirmed that singer Kalpana Raghavendra has denied the claims of an alleged suicide attempt. She has said in her statement that the rumors were false. The singer further said that she had gone from Ernakulam to Hyderabad on March 4, where she had to take sleeping pills due to sleep problems. Initially, she took 8 sleeping pills. Later, she ate 10 more pills. Due to this, she fainted.
According to the report, Kalpana Raghavendra’s husband called her several times but he got upset when he did not get a response. After this, he contacted the members of the Colony Welfare Association for help. After this, information was given to the KPHB police station. The police reached the spot and entered the house through the kitchen along with the members of the association. During this, singer Kalpana Raghavendra was found unconscious, after which she was admitted to a nearby private hospital.
Suicide rumors dismissed
On the other hand, when Kalpana Raghavendra regained consciousness, her daughter Daya Prasad Prabhakar told the media that her mother had accidentally taken more than the prescribed dose of sleeping pills. He refuted rumours of a suicide attempt and said it was just a minor overdose caused by stress.
