Sushil Kedia, an investment analyst and entrepreneur, had his Mumbai office vandalized by MNS employees on Saturday, the day after he claimed on social media that he had lived in the city for thirty years without learning Marathi. “I don’t know Marathi properly even after living in Mumbai for 30 years,” Kedia wrote in a post on X. I won’t become fluent in Marathi just because 100 of your party workers threatened me. He challenged the party to take action against him by tagging MNS chairman Raj Thackeray.
MNS Workers Attacked Kedia’s Office:
MNS openly criticized the statement. The party shared General Secretary Manoj Chavan’s aggressive comment on its official X handle: “If you live in Maharashtra and act superior by not speaking Marathi, I’ll give you a tight slap!” City leader Sandeep Deshpande added, “Do business if you’re a businessman; don’t try to act like our boss. Stay in your lane, Mehta or anyone else. If you offend a Marathi in Maharashtra, we will slap you. That’s it.”
Sushil Kedia later responded, saying, “I’m getting calls from multiple police stations… they claim to offer protection, but under that pretext, they’re asking for my location.” He tagged the police and top officials, alleging, “It looks like a shady operation is already in progress, waiting for my blood.”
