World War 3: The idea of a potential World War 3, as hypothetical as it sounds, has a tendency to spark curiosity about nations that would be in the advantageous position in the case of a world war. War capability, economic power, alliances, and technological advance would be the determining factors when examining nations that would be on the better side.
The U.S. has the world’s most dominant military and a more than $800 billion defense budget. Its global network of bases, modern nuclear capabilities, and unmatched naval and air power all give it a commanding lead. The U.S. is also at the forefront of cyber war, drone warfare, and satellite technology, and therefore a dominant power both in traditional war and modern warfare.
China has grown its military rapidly, building it in terms of technology, naval supremacy in the South China Sea, and missile technology. With the world’s largest army on standby and growing power in Africa, Asia, and Latin America, China would be capable of exercising significant regional dominance. Its economic strength would also be able to sustain an extended conflict.
Russia’s strength is founded on its large nuclear capacity, the second-largest in the world after the United States, and understanding of hybrid warfare strategies. Its strategic presence in Eastern Europe and control of energy supplies across parts of Europe puts Russia in a position of power on military as well as economic grounds. Economic sanctions may, however, demobilize its long-term strength.
India possesses the world’s fourth-most-potent military and an emerging defense industry. It enjoys strategic location in the Indian Ocean, nuclear capabilities, and huge manpower reserve that establish it as a necessary power in South Asia. India also boasts strong diplomatic relationships with Western and Eastern powers.
In a global war, clubbing like NATO (dominated by America) and QUAD (India, Japan, the U.S., and Australia) would alter the equation of power. Common defence, trade in technology, and mutual sharing of resources would make clubbings more superior to isolated powers.

And nobody essentially wins in a world war, but the nations that hold advanced war technology, nuclear weapons, economic health, and strategic alliances — mainly the U.S., China, Russia, and India — would have the upper hand if this destructive war ever comes to fruition.
