Insurance Scams: Insurance fraud cases are rising alarmingly across India, with many going far beyond paperwork. In several incidents, fraudsters have manipulated insurance claims and allegedly murdered policyholders to collect the payouts. Police reports reveal that authorities had already processed nearly 70% of these claims before they uncovered the truth: these were not accidents, but carefully planned murders.
How the Gangs Operate:
Investigators reveal that gangs actively target young, middle-class men, especially those who have just started their first jobs and want to support their families. These fraudsters approach their victims with promises of large insurance payouts and convince them to purchase high-premium policies under the guise of long-term financial security.
Financial experts point out that younger individuals, particularly those in their early 20s, qualify for higher maturity amounts on life insurance policies. The gangs take advantage of this fact and use it to manipulate and trap unsuspecting victims in their deadly schemes.

In many cases, the criminals also create fake bank accounts in the name of the victim’s uneducated family members, usually the mother, making her the nominee. Once the payout is credited, the gang withdraws the money and disappears without a trace.
