Disney’s live-action remake Snow White is currently the talk of the town. This film is an official remake of the 1937 animated classic, ”Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.” This time, the makers made 11 major changes in the Snow White remake that is grabbing attention all over. These reasons can make anyone watch the film right away.
1. Snow White’s meaningful backstory:
In the live-action remake of Snow White, the backstory of Snow White is explained in short sentences in the background. The story shows how her parents lived with kindness and how she was forced to work for her stepmother, the evil queen.
In the 1937 animated film, Snow White is named after her beauty, which shows white skin as kindness. This time, the story focused on equality and inclusivity with all the skin types.
2. Goodbye, “Someday My Prince Will Come”
The remake has many new songs like “Waiting on a Wish,” “Princess Problems,” “Good Things Grow,” and “All Is Fair” in the film. But the iconic song from the 1937 version, ‘Someday My Prince Will Come,’ is not in the film. This step portrays internal strength rather than external validation.
3. Love of Prince
The live-action remake of Snow White portrays her in a more independent way as someone who is trying to reclaim her kingdom rather than just waiting for a prince to save her.
In this remake, Jonathan, a bandit, is the one to meet Snow White and fall in love. There is no prince as such in this version.
4. New Songs Added
The film introduces new songs, such as “Waiting on a Wish” and “All Is Fair,” to refresh the musical experience.
5. Enhanced Dwarfs powers
The dwarfs are magical creatures who possess magical powers. The dwarfs have known each other for 300 years, and their hands light up when they are searching for gems. Dopey, the beloved dwarf, surprises fans with his speech, which he gained from the support of Snow White.

6. No Glass Coffin
After eating the poisoned apple given by the evil queen in disguise of an old woman, Snow White’s iconic glass coffin scene from the 1937 animated classic is removed. In this remake, the dwarfs place Snowhite on a rock and put up a tent with flowers.
7. Same Love’s First Kiss
The remake of Snow White also shows the same act of ‘love’s first kiss,’ but with more meaningful sense. When the Evil Queen poisoned her with an apple, Jonathan came to kiss her and wake her from her death sleep.
8. Villain’s Character Development
The Evil Queen gets a more interesting and complex backstory than the 1937 version. This change added layers to her role and her motivations. And her death in this remake makes more sense than just a normal ‘good wins over bad’ theme. The reasoning and work behind the climax make it interesting.
9. Wide story of Kingdom:
The 1937 version of Snow White revolves around the Evil Queen, Snow White, and the seven dwarfs. But in this remake, the you get to see the whole kingdom along with many other details that add layers to the story.
10. No Dwarfs Bathing:
The five-minute musical ‘Bluddle-Uddle-Um-Dum,’ where all the dwarfs take a bath as Snow White requests them to take a bath before eating. The makers of Snow white remake cut this song and scene totally.
11. No gooseberry pies:
Another beloved scene from the animated series of Snow White is her making gooseberry pies for the dwarfs with their names on them when they go out to work. In the live-action remake, there is no such cooking.
