Boy George Takes Back His Unkind Words Towards 1D Singer Liam Payne

Boy George, who previously focused his words at Liam Payne, now professes to regret them following the singer’s terrible death at the age of 31.

Boy George is regretting his remark regarding the late musician Liam Payne. During his participation on the High-Performance Podcast, the musician admitted that he did direct some things toward the One Direction member, but then went on to reflect and conclude that whatever he said about Payne in a video “wasn’t very nice.”

Payne died at the age of 31 after falling from the balcony of his hotel room. The later singer was buried in London a month after his death.

Meanwhile, during a talk with the podcast presenter, the Love is Love singer confessed, “I’d actually put a message under a post saying, ‘He’s off his nut,’ which wasn’t very nice, but I felt it. I felt like he was out of control.”

The musician further added, “And when [his death] happened, it just hit me. Same way that Amy Winehouse hit me just because it felt so senseless.”

While speaking about Payne, George went on to confess that he was shocked to know that the former boy band member had died. He shared, “You know, I was up at 5 a.m. and it came up on the American news and I literally was like, ‘What the f—. I was literally like, ‘No, this isn’t real.’ I couldn’t take it in and I think everybody felt like that.”

The former Voice judge expressed his sympathy for Payne’s father, who was distraught over his son’s demise. George remarked that seeing the latter’s plight nearly brought him to tears.

On October 2, Liam traveled to Buenos Aires with his girlfriend, Kate Cassidy, to see Niall Horan’s concert. Cassidy moved for California, while Payne stayed behind owing to visa concerns.

Payne was in a chaotic state and under the influence when he arrived in the hotel room. On October 16, the musician fell from the third floor, sustaining a skull fracture and other serious injuries. Liam Payne succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead by emergency personnel.
