Karate Kid Legends: A new trailer for the eagerly anticipated movie Karate Kids: Legends, which stars Ben Wang, Ralph Macchio, and Jackie Chan, was just released by Sony Pictures. The film’s protagonist, Li Wong (Ben Wang), is introduced in the trailer. In typical Karate Kid fashion, he and his mother relocate to a new city in order to start over. Although it isn’t stated in the trailer, the transfer appears to have been related to Wong’s older brother’s passing.
Jackie Chan plays Mr. Han again in the 2010 Karate Kid revival, which also starred Jaden Smith. Daniel LaRusso from Miyagi-Do, portrayed by Ralph Macchio, the original Karate Kid, will be joining the Kung Fu instructor. Chan’s character visits Machhio’s character in the trailer and begs him to impart his abilities to Li.
“The new kid who is trying to fit in uses martial arts and its lessons to make a space for himself” is one of the franchise’s recurring motifs in the new movie. Similar themes also translate into a predictable plot, but Daniel LaRusso and Mr. Han’s crossover has helped the film create suspense. LaRusso has been doing well in the Netflix series Cobra Kai alongside his nemesis turned friend Johnny Lawrence, played by William Zabka, but Mr. Han has been out of the spotlight since the last film.
Although there have been no announcements to that effect, fans would love to see more Netflix characters in the film. Joshua Jackson, Ming-Na Wen, Shaunette Renée Wilson, and Sadie Stanley are among the current cast members. This will be the sixth Karate Kid movie, excluding the Netflix series.
