Disney Studios’s much awaited musical drama action-adventure film Mufasa: The Lion King is helmed by Barry Jenkins from a screenplay written by Jeff Nathanson and bankrolled by Walt Disney Pictures premiered on December 20th worldwide .

Mufasa: The Lion King received mixed reviews from critics, with particular praise for Jenkins’ direction, music, and voice performances, but criticism for the screenplay and visuals.

Disney fans took to their social media and shared their excitement. A fan stated, Mufasa The Lion King is a worthy prequel. I wasn’t sure a Mufasa backstory would work, but Barry Jenkins and team delivered an emotional, visually stunning, and entertaining film. Aaron Pierre (Mufasa) is a standout, though the songs were a letdown—forgettable and cookie-cutter. Still, I loved it. 4.5/5 stars

Another praised the film’s plot, he wrote, well #Mufasa The Lion King was at least better than the 2019 one simply on the basis of it having an original story. Idk man i’m just not a fan of the hyper-realistic CGI lions singing and dancing, it’s so uncanny. Should’ve made this animated.
