Vidaamuyarchi released amid high expectations and endless excitement, Thala Ajith Kumar’s Vidaamuyarchi has collected close to 70 Crores across all languages in the last 7 days. The film’s estimated budget is nearly 200 Crores and it is reported that Thala Ajith’s remuneration was more than 100 Crores. According to Sacnilk, this action drama earned an estimated gross of 100 crore till today combining Indian and overseas collections. Vidaamuyarchi is produced by Lyca Productions and directed by Magizh Thirumeni.

Cast & Crew

Vidaamuyarchi had an ensemble cast of Ajith Kumar, Trisha, Arjun Sarja, Regina Cassandra, Arav, Jeeva Ravi, and others. Anirudh Ravichander composed the songs and background score for the film. While Om Prakash handled the cinematography, NB Srikanth edited the film.

Plot

Arjun (Ajith) works in Georgia and falls in love with Kayal (Trisha). The couple gets married and settles in Azerbaijan. Due to unprecedented events following their marriage, Kayal decides to divorce Arjun. Things take a drastic turn when Arjun convinces her to meet her parents one last time before they separate. With unexpected twists and turns, the story keeps us on the edge of the seat.

Buzz before Release

Vidaamuyarchi made enough buzz and kept trending on many occasions before the release. Set to release during Pongal initially, the film was later postponed and released on 6 February. It was nothing less of Pongal for Thala fans though. While some fans praised the film for its stylish making and production values, some of them expressed disappointment in the story narration and execution.

After the success of Valimai in 2022, it was reported that Ajith will join hands with Vignesh Shivan for his next venture. Due to reasons unknown, Vignesh backed out of the film. Several big names like Atlee and Murugadoss surfaced and finally, Magizh Thirumeni came on board. Will the film pick from here or will it tank at the box office, time has to say.
