Film actor Posani Krishna Murali has been arrested by the Andhra Pradesh police. He was taken into custody by the Rayachoti police in Gachibowli and is expected to be transferred to Rajampet later. Cases have been filed against him in multiple locations across Andhra Pradesh for making inappropriate comments about TDP chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu and Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan. Additionally, it has been reported that the AP CID has also registered a case against him.
The Andhra Pradesh police have arrested film actor Posani Krishna Murali. He resides in the Myhome Bhuja Apartments in Rayadurgam and was taken into custody by the Rayachoti police, who have informed the Rayadurgam police about the arrest. Several cases have been filed against Posani in different locations across Andhra Pradesh for making inappropriate comments about TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu and Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan. Additionally, the Andhra Pradesh Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has registered a case against him. Following this, Posani is currently being transferred to Rajampet.
Posani Krishna Murali served as the chairman of the Andhra Pradesh Film, Television, and Theatre Development Corporation (APFTVDC) during the rule of the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP). During this period, he faced allegations of making inappropriate comments about prominent political figures, including Chandrababu Naidu, Pawan Kalyan, and Nara Lokesh. In November of the previous year, several cases were filed against Posani across Andhra Pradesh related to these allegations. The Andhra Pradesh Criminal Investigation Department (CID) also registered a case based on complaints from coalition leaders.
CID officials acted on a complaint made by Bandaru Vamsi Krishna, a representative of the state Telugu youth organization. Vamsi Krishna alleged that Posani made inappropriate remarks about Chandrababu during a media conference in September 2024, leading to the investigation. Complaints were also lodged against Posani for making offensive comments about TTD Chairman BR Naidu.
It has been reported that Posani Krishna Murali was arrested in connection with a case registered at the Obulavaripalli police station. This case involves accusations of insulting individuals based on caste and inciting class differences among the public. In light of the numerous complaints filed against him by members of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) alliance, Posani made a sensational statement in November, declaring that he would no longer engage in political discussions and would withdraw from politics entirely.
