Diwali theatrical releases : when and where to stream these films on OTT platforms?

Diwali theatrical releases : Diwali is a huge festival season in terms of box office revenues. Many films have been released on this date over the years, and have gone on to gross enormous sums at the box office.


This Diwali, many films from different Industries like Lucky Bhaskar, Amaran, Bagheera, Brother, Singham Again, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 and KA has been hit the theaters. The clash of seven big films, they being part of different industries as well as curiosity around the new releases.

In Bollywood, Rohit Shetty’s much awaited action sequel Singham Again and Kartik Aaryan’s horror thriller Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 has done a decent business. A source revealed that two films cumulatively earned Rs 100-200 crore over the first weekend, which is a strong start given that the Indian box office has suffered during the 2024 calendar year as over-the-top entertainment gained popularity.


In Tollywood, Dulquer Salmaan’s periodic drama Lucky Bhaskar and Kiran Abbavaram’s suspense thriller KA , declared as critically and commercially successful as the both movies got positive reviews from critics and audience and strong box office returns.

Diwali theatrical releases

In Kollywood , Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi’s biographical action war film Amaran is receiving praise from critics and audiences, while Jayam Ravi’s Brother and Bloody Beggar got mixed reviews. Meanwhile, Kannada’s superhero film Bagheera with Sri Murali got decent reviews from critics and doing quite well at box office.

Netflix bought Ott streaming rights of Lucky Bhaskar, Amaran, Bagheera, and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. Kiran Abbavaram’s KA will stream on ETV Win, while Brother heads to Zee5. Amazon Prime Video has bagged Rohit Shetty’s action sequel Singham Again. It is said that South films are expected to appear on OTT after month of it’s theatrical release, while Hindi releases might take up to eight weeks.

All these film released worldwide on 31 October 2024 in theatres, coinciding with Diwali, to widespread critical acclaim from critics and are set to debut on Ott platform soon after standard theatrical window time.
