South’s Highest Paid Actress: Is It Nayanthara or Sai Pallavi?

South’s Highest Paid Actress: Lady super star Nayanthara has been the highest paid actress for years in South Indian cinema earning between ₹10-12 crores per film. But recent reports suggest that Sai Pallavi has now overtaken her with a remarkable ₹30 crore remuneration. This unexpected movie has sparked discussions about who holds the top position among actresses in the South.

Sai Pallavi is known for her natural acting and powerful performances. Her career has been on a steady rise, with recent films like Amaran and Thandel achieving tremendous success. Amaran entered the ₹300 crore club while Thandel grossed over ₹100 crores. These box office successes have boosted her market value to the next level.

Currently Sai Pallavi is playing Sita in the highly anticipated Ramayana alongside Ranbir Kapoor as Rama and Yash as Ravana. Reports indicate that she is being paid ₹30 crores for the project covering both parts of the film. This means she is earning ₹15 crores per installment officially surpassing South lady super star Nayanthara’s standard fee.

In the past, actresses in South Indian cinema were paid significantly less than male actors in the films. But with the rise of pan-India films, situations changed. Now female stars are demanding and receiving higher salaries almost equal to heroes. Sai Pallavi’s remuneration marks a major shift in the film industry proving that talent and box office success can lead to better pay.

Meanwhile Nayanthara is soon to be seen in OTT film Test. It is an upcoming Tamil language sports drama directed by S. Sashikanth. The movie is produced with Chakravarthy Ramachandra under YNOT Studios. The film stars R. Madhavan, Nayanthara, Siddharth and Meera Jasmine in key roles. Also she will be seen in Yash film Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups. This period gangster film is written and directed by Geetu Mohandas. The movie also stars Huma Qureshi, Kiara Advani, Tara Sutaria, Darrell D’Silva and Akshay Oberoi in key roles.
