7 Foods You Should Avoid This Summer

Summer heat will have many effects on the body. Eating the wrong foods can lead to dehydration and other health problems. To stay cool and healthy, we must choose our diet carefully. Some foods can increase body heat as well as cause digestion issues which make us feel uncomfortable. Here are some foods to avoid during summer:


1. Salty Foods

Foods high in salt like chips and processed snacks can reduce hydration levels in the body. Excess sodium leads to dehydration that makes you feel tired and thirsty.


2. Fried Foods

Deep-fried items like burgers, French fries and fried chicken are difficult to digest and can cause bloating. They also increase body heat that leads to discomfort.

3. Coffee

Drinking too much coffee can lead to dehydration. Caffeine increases body temperature and can make you feel hotter in the summer. It’s better to switch to cooling drinks like buttermilk or coconut water.

4. Pickles

Pickles contain high amounts of salt.It can lead to dehydration.They also affect digestion and may cause bloating in hot weather.

5. Dry Fruits

Although dry fruits generate body heat. Consuming too many during summer can lead to discomfort.Fresh fruits like watermelon and cucumber to stay hydrated may be substituted in place of dry fruits.

6. Soda and Carbonated Drinks

Even Sodas may be refreshing, but they increase sugar levels in the body and cause dehydration.Drink fresh fruit juices or coconut water as an alternative of it.

7. Spicy Foods

Spicy foods contain capsaicin.It raises body temperature and causes sweating.Indigestion and discomfort are severe problems of eating too spicy food in summer.

What to Eat Instead?

To stay cool and hydrated we should include water-rich foods in your diet. Drink plenty of water and also eat fruits like watermelon, muskmelon and cucumbers. Coconut water and lemon juice are also great for hydration.
