L2 Empuraan Day 1 Box Office: South superstar Mohanlal and Prithviraj Sukumaran’s film ‘L2 Empuraan’ was released in theaters on Thursday, March 27. This film proved in advance booking that it will rock on its opening day. After release, a similar result has been seen. ‘L2 Empuraan’ has broken every possible record of the Malayalam industry on the box office collection on the very first day. According to the reports, Mohanlal’s ‘L2 Empuraan’ has opened the account with Rs 22 crore at the box office on the first day of its release. With this, the film has demolished the previous record of any Malayalam film. Earlier this record was in the name of Prithviraj’s film ‘The Goat Life.’ Released in the year 2024, this film earned Rs 8.95 crore in India. Earlier in 2019, ‘Lucifer’ had earned Rs 6.10 crore.

The report states that ‘L2 Empuran’ has recorded a strong occupancy of 60% in all Malayalam shows. Almost all the shows in areas like Kozhikode and Kochi, Mohanlal’s stronghold, were sold out. Overall, this film can set a new record for the Malayalam industry. Even though the opening day collection of ‘L2 Empuran’ is not as expected, it is also true that till 2019, no Malayalam film has earned 100 crores worldwide. At the same time, ‘L2 Empuraan’ has broken that record by opening with 22 crores.

‘L2: Empuraan’ is a pan-India film that has been released in theaters in Malayalam as well as Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi languages. Apart from this, this is the first Malayalam film to be released in IMAX format. The action thriller was directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran, and he has also appeared in the film with Mohanlal. Tovino Thomas, Abhimanyu Singh, Indrajeet Sukumaran, and Manju Warrier played prominent roles in the film, adding to L2 Empuraan’s overall success.
