Kollywood Directors Who We Need Back in Action

Kollywood Directors Who We Need Back in Action

Kollywood: There was once a good craze for Kollywood directors in the Indian film industry. You don’t need to mention Shankar in particular. Many of his films inspired by social issues became superhits in Tamil as well as other languages. AR Murugadoss also needs no introduction. After receiving a blockbuster in Telugu and Tamil with Ghajini, he remade the same film in Bollywood with Aamir Khan and it became a hit there too. After that, his craze went somewhere with the movie ‘Thupaki’. Movies like ‘Stalin’ with Chiranjeevi and ‘7aum Arivu’ with Suriya, although they performed averagely, brought Murugadoss a good name. But all this is an old story. Now, producers run away at the mere mention of these star directors. Now, fans of heroes are making direct statements saying that they should not work with them.

‘Game Changing’ movie for Shankar

This year’s Sankranti gift, ‘Game Changer’, failed to impress not only movie lovers but also mega fans. Ram Charan’s ‘RRR’ movie was a huge success, Charan acted for the first time under Shankar’s direction, and Dil Raju produced it grandly, so fans had high hopes for ‘Game Changer’. However, before that, the audience was shocked after watching ‘Indian 2’ directed by Shankar. After seeing that take, they satirized saying, “Is this the same old Shankar? Is this Shankar the same?” Many people also had doubts about ‘Game Changer’ after the result of this movie. However, some thought that Shankar must have changed after the result of ‘Indian 2’. However, after the release of the movie, it did not take long for them to realize how much they misunderstood Shankar. Neither the acting, the screenplay, nor the songs could impress the audience at all. With this, ‘Game Changer’ became the biggest flop in Charan’s career. With the result of this movie, heroes and producers are now afraid to make a film with Shankar in the future.

Sikandar’s failure

After Shankar, Murugadoss, who seemed like a beacon of hope for the Tamil industry, also fell suddenly. ‘Spyder’ with Mahesh Babu was a disaster and had a serious impact on Murugadoss’ career. Fans were also angry at Mahesh for agreeing to this story. Even now, Prince fans get emotional when they think about ‘Spyder’. After that, ‘Sarkar’ with Vijay and ‘Darbar’ with Rajini failed to impress. This led to a situation where Tamil and Telugu heroes would make faces whenever he appeared. Murugadoss, who had set his sights on Bollywood made a movie in Bollywood with Salman Khan, released under the name ‘Sikandar’.

Fans thought that Salman would definitely make a hit with this movie as he has not been in form lately. Also, with National Crush Rashmika playing the heroine, their expectations increased even more. However, ‘Sikandar’, which was released on the occasion of Ramzan, turned out to be a disaster in Salman’s career. While there was not much hype before the actual release, the situation became even worse after the release. People used to say that the biggest disaster in Murugadoss’ career so far was ‘Spyder’. Now critics say that ‘Sikandar’ has replaced it. With this, it seems that the doors of Kollywood, Tollywood, and Bollywood have also been closed for Murugadoss.

These Kollywood Directors need to make a comeback!

The fading out of these two star directors, who once brought fame to the Tamil film industry across the country, is making fans feel sad. Currently, Shankar has ‘Indian 3’ in his hands and Murugadoss has ‘Madarasi’ with Sivakarthikeyan in his hands. ‘Madarasi’ is currently undergoing post-production work. Will these legendary directors learn lessons from the bitter experiences they have recently faced? Will they be able to climb the success track with the films they have in hand? We will have to wait a few days to find the answer to these questions.
