Box Office report 2025: The first quarter of 2025 was very interesting in Bollywood. While some films earned tremendously at the box office earlier this year, some films failed to impress the audience. During this period, films of different genres like action, romance and biopic came to the theaters. Let’s take a look at the performance of films released between January and March.
Chhaava
This historical drama starring Vicky Kaushal proved to be a superhit at the box office. This film based on the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj earned a brilliant amount of 587 crores. Starring Akshay Khanna and Rashmika Mandanna in important roles, this film entertained the audience a lot.
Sky Force
This film of Akshay Kumar was based on the Indo-Pakistan air war of 1965. This film with the presence of Veer Pahadia, Sara Ali Khan and Nimrat Kaur depicts the spirit of patriotism. It performed brilliantly at the box office and earned 131.44 crores.
The Diplomat
This thriller film starring John Abraham performed better than expected. Based on the story of an Indian woman trapped in Pakistan, this film managed to earn 33.24 crores.
Emergency
Directed by Kangana Ranaut, this film was based on the Emergency during Indira Gandhi’s reign. Although released after controversies and delays, this film could not make an impact at the box office and was limited to earning 16.52 crores.
Loveyaapa
There was a lot of excitement among the audience about Khushi Kapoor and Junaid Khan’s debut film, but this youth romantic drama film failed at the box office and could earn only 7.04 crores.
Azad
This historical film directed by Abhishek Kapoor also failed to attract the audience. Despite a cameo by Ajay Devgn, Raveena Tandon’s daughter Rasha Thadani and Ajay Devgn’s nephew Aaman Devgn’s debut film managed to earn only 6.32 crores.
Films that got mixed reviews
Deva
Shahid Kapoor and Pooja Hegde’s action thriller managed to earn 32.07 crores. However, it received mixed reactions for its story.
BadAss Ravi Kumar
Himesh Reshammiya’s spoof film was in the news for its unique style and meme culture. The film managed to earn 9.66 crores, making it better than Loveyaapa.
Crazy
Sohum Shah’s mystery-thriller was somewhat liked by the audience. The story of a father searching for his missing daughter, it earned 11.09 crores.
Sikander
Salman Khan and Rashmika Mandanna’s film Sikandar released in late March. This action thriller, released just before Eid, earned 30 crores in the opening day and crossed the 50 crore mark worldwide. However, the audience has raised questions on its weak story.
