Kanguva Day 2 Box Office Collection: Suriya’s Action Drama Downfall Starts. Kanguva made its theatrical debut on 14th November 2024. The film received mixed reviews from both critics and fans alike. Despite the hype, Suriya’s film failed to impress the audience with its story. Starring Suriya in the lead role, Disha Patani in the female lead and Bobby Deol plays the antagonist. Kanguva marks the Tamil debut of both Disha Patani and Bobby Deol. Check out the detailed day 2 box office collections of Suriya’s most anticipated film Kanguva.
Suriya’s epic action fantasy is now in theatres and experiencing a real struggle with box office numbers. On its opening day, the film made just Rs 24 Crore on its first day. This may not be the best start for Suriya’s film. On the second day, the film saw a drastic dip in the collections with no positive word of mouth, the second day collected just Rs 9.00 Crore. Despite Suriya’s mesmerising action and much-anticipated cameos, the film fails to attract audiences to the theatres.
Another reason for fewer collections may be limited screen allotment to the film. This is due to multiple delays, Kanguva was earlier set to release on 10th October 2024. But the makers of Kanguva postponed the film due to a clash with Rajinikanth’s Vettaiyaan. The push in release led to a clash with Diwali releases. Amaran emerged as the blockbuster hit of Diwali 2024 giving tough competition to Kanguva with 50% occupancy in theatres.
Kanguva revolves around the two timelines ancestral Suriya to Modern Suriya. The common point in this film and other periodic films is the cause. The betrayal is the most common thing that ended the eras of kings, tribes etc. One such story is Kanguva. The undefeated warrior can only be defeated by betrayal, this obvious factor drives the film. The absence of Disha Patani in the trailer hints at her very limited screen presence and the most unimportant role in the film.
Don’t miss out the film if you are fan of action sequences that the Suriya and Bobby Deol managed to pull off with ease.
