IPL 2025 Players Involved in Heated Arguments
Although cricket is a gentlemen’s game, verbal spats between players are not uncommon. Especially in a highly intense game, players sometimes lose their cool and have heated exchanges. In a cash-rich tournament like the Indian Premier League, where high stakes are involved, players often cross the line. In this article, we will look at some IPL heated arguments between players in the TATA IPL 2025.
Jasprit Bumrah and Karun Nair
In match 29 between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Mumbai Indians (MI), a verbal spat sparkled between MI bolwer Jasprit Bumrah and DC batter Karun Nair. Chasing a target of 205, DC lost opener Jake Fraser-McGurk on the very first ball of its innings. Karun Nair, who entered the field as an impact player, built a solid partnership with Abishek Porel. Returning to IPL after 3 years, he announced his arrival in style. His 40-ball 89 included 5 sixes and 12 fours. He dominated MI bowlers, including Bumrah where he scored 26 runs in Bumrah’s 9 balls. The unfortunate incident happened when Karun unintentionally collided with the MI speedster in an attempt to complete a second run. Despite his apology, Bumrah was seen frustrated. It was evident that his domination triggered Jasprit, which escalated tension. Hardik Pandya’s intervention settled the matter.
Travis Head and Glenn Maxwell
The proof that IPL is an intensely competitive event is the verbal fight between two Australians playing for different franchises. This incident happened during the game between SRH and PBKS, where the Sunrisers chased Mammoth 245 and emerged victorious. Travis Head smashed Maxwell for two sixes in the ninth over and when he hit straight on the next ball, Maxwell collected it and threw the ball towards Head in aggression. As a result, Head’s confrontation with Maxwell led to an on-field tension. Another Aussie Marcus Stonis, playing for Punjab turned peacemaker.
Hardik Pandya and Sai Kishore
In the match between Gujarat Titans and Mumbai Indians, Hardik Pandya and Sai Kishore were part of a brief confrontation. Once teammates, both became rivals in this game. It all started with Sai Kishore’s staredown to the MI skipper. Hardik’s jibe with an abuse added an unwanted drama to the situation. However, both hugged after the match and avoided action from the match referee.
