Thalapathy Vijay debuts new look for political action thriller film Thalapathy 69 sets. The actor had been spotted waving at fans from inside his car as he was leaving the sets of his tentatively last film Thalapathy 69.

Joseph Vijay Chandrasekhar known professionally as Vijay, in a career spanning over three decades, Vijay has acted in 68 films and is one of the most commercially successful actors in Tamil cinema with multiple films amongst the highest-grossing Tamil films of all time and is amongst the highest paid actors in India. He has won several awards as an actor. 

Following a period of moderate success, Vijay acted in several critically and commercially successful films including Thuppakki, Kaththi, Mersal, Sarkar, Master, Leo, action drama film Varisu, Beast and recent sci-fi action film The Greatest of All Time. He is referred to as Thalapathy , Vijay has a quite significant fan following and recently started his much anticipated political career.

In February 2024, Vijay announced his retirement from films and his entry into politics with the launch of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam and also announced that he will be doing only one more film, which will be his 69th and last as a lead actor which is tentatively titled asThalapathy 69.

Thalapathy 69 is the tentative working title for the actor’s upcoming political action thriller film helmed by H. Vinoth and bankrolled by KVN Productions with an estimated budget of Rs 300 crore .The political drama’s incredible cast inlcudes stars Vijay, Pooja Hegde and Bobby Deol in the lead roles, alongside Gautham Vasudev Menon, Prakash Raj, Narain, Priyamani, Mamitha Baiju and Monisha Blessy in supporting roles. It is intended to be the final film of Vijay before he enters politics and the studio’s first Tamil film production.

It is scheduled to be released on October 16, 2025. The movie is expected to be a political drama and action film, and will be available in multiple languages including Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi.
