PBKS vs KKR: In a thrilling 16-run victory over the Kolkata Knight Riders at Mullanpur, Chandigarh, on Tuesday, Punjab Kings made history by defending the lowest total ever in the Indian Premier League.
Punjab’s bowlers pulled off an incredible comeback to dismiss KKR for just 95 in 15.1 overs after being knocked out for a pitiful 111 in 15.3 overs, which is often regarded as a terrible total in T20 cricket. The effort shattered the Chennai Super Kings’ long-standing record of 116 against the same Punjab team in 2009.

With statistics of 4 for 28, which included the crucial dismissals of Angkrish Raghuvanshi (37), Rinku Singh, Ramandeep Singh, and KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane, Yuzvendra Chahal was the night’s standout. The defeat started early when openers Sunil Narine and Quinton de Kock were removed in the first two overs by debutant Xavier Bartlett (1/30) and Marco Jansen (3/17).

Chahal’s double-strike opened the floodgates, despite Rahane and Raghuvanshi’s 55-run partnership momentarily calming the chase. After Chahal threatened late with two sixes in an over, Andre Russell (17) was bowled by Jansen to ensure Punjab’s historic victory.
