It is known that the Telangana state government has announced that it will give ‘Gaddar’ awards to promote the Telugu film industry. Senior actress Jayasudha has already been selected as the chairman of the jury committee of the Gaddar Awards. A jury has been formed with a total of 15 members. The details of the members have been revealed by the government.
Actress Jeevitha Rajasekhar is a member of the jury formed for the Gaddar Awards. Directors Dasharath, VN Aditya, Nandini Reddy, L. Srinath, Shiva Nageswara Rao, and Uma Maheshwara Rao have been given a place. Lyricist Kasarla Shyam, producer Edida Raja, exhibitor Vijay Kumar Rao, film analyst Gautam, and journalists Venkata Ramana and Lakshmi Narayana are also members. FDC MD will act as the convener of this jury and Jayasudha will act as the chairman.
The Telangana Gaddar Awards jury meeting was held on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Jayasudha. FDC Chairman and Producer Dil Raju, who met with Jayasudha and FDC Managing Director Harish, suggested that the award nominations be examined impartially. He said that the government is going to present film awards after 14 years and asked that the award selection process be completed smoothly.
It is known that these awards were established in the name of the popular singer and activist Gaddar. Actors and technicians who have shown outstanding talent in the Telugu cinema field will be honored with awards. Awards are going to be given in various categories for films released in 2024. Special awards will be given in the name of Paidi Jairaj and Kanta Rao. Dil Raju had previously said that a Best Film Award will be announced with the aim of promoting Urdu films. After the formation of a separate Telangana state, it was announced that an award would be given to one best film every year among the films released from June 2014 to December 31, 2023.
It seems that 1248 nominations have been received in all categories for the Gaddar Telangana Film Awards . 1172 in the individual category. 76 applications have been received in the categories of feature film, children’s films, documentary, film critics, books, etc. The screening process of nominations will start from April 21st. Dil Raju said in the meantime that the government is planning to make the Gaddar Awards program a grand affair in April itself. Since the applications will be examined from the 21st of this month, there are chances that the awards program will be organized next month.
