Tamil cinema’s highest-paid actor, Suriya, continues to command a good price for his movies. His upcoming movies, Retro and provisionally titled Suriya 46, directed by Venky Atluri, have not only generated interest due to the unusual plot lines but also Suriya’s pay for Retro.
For Retro, helmed by Karthik Subbaraj, Suriya reportedly charged ₹39 crore. The romantic action drama is produced on a whopping budget of ₹300–350 crore. Retro, which is scheduled to release on May 1, 2025, stars Suriya in the lead, with Pooja Hegde, accompanied by a star cast consisting of Joju George and Jayaram. Suriya’s salary is an indication of his unmatched stature in the industry as he always gives performances that reach out to the heart of the audience.
Venky Atluri Collaboration
Surya’s following film, Surya 46, is his first production with Telugu director Venky Atluri. Sithara Entertainments will be producing the film, which will go into production in May 2025.
