IPL 2025 Postponed: After the 2025 Indian Premier League season began, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) made a shocking decision to reschedule the tournament. A short while ago, the BCCI announced that it would postpone the IPL indefinitely due to the escalating conflict between India and Pakistan. The board reached this decision after cancelling the Delhi vs. Punjab match yesterday.

What Happened In Dharmashala:
After air-raid warnings in nearby Jammu and Pathankot, authorities enforced a blackout near the Line of Control, leading to the cancellation of Thursday’s IPL match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals at Dharamsala’s HPCA Stadium. The emergency protocols activated across the region, including Dharamsala, halted the match at 10.2 overs. Internal sources confirmed that authorities arranged special trains to evacuate the players to Delhi on Friday.
Remaining Game Left Over:
As of yesterday, 58 of the 74 games that were originally planned, including the playoffs, the group stage, and the final, had already been played. The Indian Premier League’s 2025 season, which was originally supposed to end on May 25, still has 16 games to go.

In a recent media report, BCCI Vice President Rajeev Shukla said, ‘We are monitoring the situation, seeking advice from the Government, and will make a final decision on the IPL tomorrow. The situation is changing daily. We’ll follow government instructions and update all stakeholders accordingly. Additionally, IPL Chief Arun Dhumal added, ‘We are reviewing the situation as it evolves. Also, the Government hasn’t issued any directive yet. We’ll decide after considering all logistical factors.
