Thug Life: The trailer for the movie Thug Life has been released by the production team. Mani Ratnam is the director of the eagerly awaited Tamil film, which stars Kamal Haasan and Silambarasan TR.

Following the legendary Nayakan (1987), Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam are reunited in the film.Mani Ratnam’s Madras Talkies and Kamal Haasan’s Raaj Kamal Films International are the producers of Thug Life. Red Giant Movies will distribute the film.

Silambarasan TR and Kamal Haasan are shown in the trailer having a unique, father-son relationship. He is thanked by Kamal Haasan’s character for saving his life. “We will stay together until the very end.” According to him, “our destinies were written to be one.” Kamal Haasan, who plays mobster Rangaraya Sakthivel, declares that Silambarasan, who plays Amar, will co-manage his syndicate. But then things go wrong, and the two start fighting.

Thug Life appears to be a gangster drama that travels the world and has a lot of action scenes. During an interview with Hollywood Reporter India, Kamal Haasan disclosed that his script, Amar Hai, served as the basis for the movie Thug Life.”I finished writing a script that was pun-titled Amar Hai. Even when a man is thought to be dead, he is not. The issue is that his name is Amar. Kamal Haasan had stated, “Mani took it as an idea and went on to enhance it.”

The film’s soundtrack was written by Mani Ratnam’s frequent collaborator A R Rahman, and the cinematography was done by Ravi K Chandran. The editing was done by Sreekar Prasad.

Release Date and Cast:
On June 5, 2025, Thug Life will be released on cinemas all across the world. With Kamal Haasan’s lyrics, the film’s first single, Jingucha, has created just the perfect amount of buzz.

Trisha Krishnan, Ashok Selvan, Sanya Malhotra, Abhirami, Nasser, Aishwarya Lekshmi, and Joju George are also featured in the film. Anbariv masters created the action choreography for the movie. Telugu, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam will all have dubbing for the movie.

The Ponniyin Selvan, which Mani Ratnam last produced, was successful at the box office. The second part was released on April 23, 2023, whereas the first part was released on September 30, 2022. The 1996 blockbuster’s sequel, Indian 2, was Kamal Haasan’s most recent appearance. After its July 12, 2024, release, the S Shankar-directed film received mixed reviews and failed to live up to box office projections.
