Hyderabad Regional Ring Road: Southern Corridor Alignment Approved

Hyderabad Regional Ring Road: Southern Corridor Alignment Approved

It is known that the Central and State governments are constructing the Hyderabad Regional Ring Road (RRR) with great prestige. This project is considered a super game changer for Telangana. A total of 350 km of the road is being divided into two parts. While the Center has already given the green signal for the northern part of the work , tenders have been invited. Recently, a key update has come on the southern part.

The Telangana cabinet has approved the proposals for the alignment of the southern part of the Regional Ring Road. After a thorough examination of the three proposals prepared by the Roads and Buildings Department in the cabinet meeting held on Monday (June 23), the final approval was given to the 201 km long alignment from Choutuppal to Sangareddy.

Southern Corridor Alignment Approved

The southern alignment approved by the cabinet starts at Choutuppal (former Nalgonda district), passes through various areas and ends in Sangareddy district. This route connects many mandals and villages. This will contribute to the development of these areas in the future. The northern alignment has already been approved.

Now that the green signal has been given to the southern part as well, the RRR project will be further accelerated. The next steps will be the land acquisition process, preparation of DPR, and fundraising. Experts believe that once the construction of the RRR is completed, the areas around Hyderabad city will be comprehensively developed and the transport system in the state will be further strengthened.

The Regional Ring Road is a key project to improve the transportation system around Hyderabad city , reduce traffic congestion and promote economic activities. This project will connect areas far from the city and connect various national highways. Once the construction of the Regional Ring Road is completed, it will be possible to travel between different areas without passing through Hyderabad. This will significantly reduce travel time. The number of heavy vehicles entering the city will decrease, thereby reducing traffic congestion within the city. There will be an opportunity to set up new industrial and commercial centers along the Ring Road.
