Rudra role in Kannappa:

The highly awaited devotional drama Kannappa, starring Manchu Vishnu, finally released on June 27, 2025. Director Mukesh Kumar Singh brings to life the inspiring story of Bhakta Kannappa, the great devotee of Lord Shiva. With a massive budget of nearly ₹300 crores, the film has grabbed attention for its star-studded cast and powerful visuals.

Rudra role in Kannappa:

One of the biggest highlights of the movie is the special role played by superstar Prabhas. Though he appears on-screen for only around 30 minutes, his character as Rudra has left a strong impact on audiences. However, recent reports suggest that Prabhas wasn’t the first choice for this divine role.

According to sources, Kannappa director and producer Manchu Vishnu initially wanted Jr NTR to play the role of Rudra. But as discussions progressed, many from the film team, including Mohan Babu, advised Vishnu to approach Prabhas instead. Following this, Vishnu reportedly convinced Prabhas to take up the role. Though the truth behind this change is not fully confirmed, fans are excited to see Prabhas in such a powerful and divine role.

The movie also features many well-known stars like Mohan Babu, Mohanlal, Akshay Kumar, Kajal Aggarwal, Sarath Kumar, Brahmanandam and Madhoo. Produced under the 24 Frames Factory banner by Mohan Babu and Vishnu Manchu, the movie is being praised by critics and audiences alike. Scenes between Vishnu and Prabhas, especially their dialogues and emotional performances have received huge applause.
