Free Electricity Every Month:
The Central Government brings huge relief to power consumers with the PM Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme. Under this program, families receive up to 150 units of free electricity every month. The scheme pushes households toward solar energy and reduces the financial pressure on poor and middle-class families.
The government aims to increase the use of solar power and help every home generate its own energy. Families who install rooftop solar panels get free electricity up to a fixed limit each month. The government already launched the scheme in selected districts and now plans to expand it across the country very soon.
Officials plan to set up nearly 20,000 solar plants in the first phase. Once families install the solar panels, they start using the electricity produced at home. If the panels produce extra power, families can send it to the government grid and earn money for the surplus. This step boosts clean energy and supports environmental protection.
The government gives strong financial support for solar installation:
1 kW solar plant – subsidy of ₹45,000
2 kW solar plant – subsidy of ₹90,000
3 to 10 kW plants – subsidy up to ₹1,08,000
Families only need to pay a small part of the total installation cost. Even after paying their share, the overall expense remains low because of government assistance.
The scheme uses a quick, online application method. Families need:
Aadhaar card
Electricity connection number
House address
Bank account details
After submission, officials check the house and complete the installation.
The PM Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme helps families save money, use clean energy, and reduce dependence on traditional power supply. The government aims to turn lakhs of homes into self-sufficient, solar-powered houses through this initiative.
