Actors and technicians are increasingly working in all languages, blurring the lines between the film industry. This pattern is mostly maintained in Superstar Rajinikanth’s next movie, Coolie, which is helmed by Lokesh Kanagaraj.

According to recent sources, Tollywood star Sundeep Kishan has joined the film’s ensemble cast, although Akkineni Nagarjuna, Kannada actor Upendra, and Malayalam actor Soubin Shahir already have important roles. It’s interesting to note that Sundeep Kishan starred in Lokesh Kanagaraj’s first Tamil success, Maanagaram.

After Kaithi, Master, and Vikram, Lokesh’s career took off. Now that Lokesh is working with Rajinikanth on Coolie, he has once again given Sundeep a particular role, demonstrating their close bond. In a previous response to criticism on the frequent cameos, Lokesh made it clear that each figure has a specific function in the story.

In a recent conversation with a media director Lokesh Kanagaraj clarrified that Coolie is not related to Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU) franchise and it is standalone film. It was initially tentative titled as Thalaivar 171.

The action thriller film is funded by Kalanithi Maran’s Sun Pictures and stars Rajinikanth in the titular role, alongside Nagarjuna, Upendra, Soubin Shahir, Shruti Haasan, Sathyaraj and Reba Monica John.Now as per reports Sandeep Kishan joins the cast.

The music and background score is composed by Anirudh Ravichander, in his fifth collaboration with Rajinikanth after Petta, Darbar , Jailer,  recent action film Vettaiyan and fourth with Lokesh after Master, Vikram and Leo.

It is reported that the film’s digital streaming rights were reportedly acquired by Amazon Prime Video and the satellite rights by Sun TV. The film’s teaser trailer was released on 22 April, which revealed the film’s title.

Coolie is set for it’s worldwide grand theatrical debut in 2025 in standard and IMAX formats. Apart from the original Tamil language, the film is also scheduled to release with dubbed versions in the Hindi, Telugu and Kannada-languages.
