Telangana School Holidays Next Week : July 12 to 14 (2025)

School Holidays Next Week: Who doesn’t love holidays? From little LKG kids to employees nearing retirement, everyone eagerly looks forward to them. People scan calendars for festivals, public holidays, or any special days. If a holiday happens to fall midweek, other than a Sunday, their joy knows no bounds. And when a regular holiday overlaps with a Sunday, that joy doubles. But when a long weekend arrives, the excitement truly soars.

School Holidays Next Week : July 12 to 14

This time, there’s good news. This Saturday and Sunday (July 12 and 13) are back-to-back holidays. And for some students in Telangana, there’s even more to cheer about — there’s a chance that next Monday could be a holiday too. If that happens, it would mean three consecutive days off, turning an ordinary weekend into a mini-vacation.

These holidays aren’t just for students. Employees too, whether or not they get all three days off, will certainly have at least a two-day break.

It’s the perfect time to celebrate the Bonalu festival joyfully with family and friends. Or, in this pleasant weather, you could plan a short trip with your children to scenic tourist or spiritual spots. Three leisurely days — perfect for relaxing and making memories.

Two-day break assured for all Telugu students

Typically, the second Saturday of every month is a holiday for schools and colleges. Many government and private sector employees also have the day off. This month, that second Saturday falls on July 12. So, students and some employees will enjoy a holiday. The next day being Sunday ensures two days of rest for everyone. Thus, students across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh are guaranteed this two-day break.

Could there be school holidays next week

This Sunday is especially significant for the people of Telangana. It falls in the month of Ashada, when the Bonalu festival dedicated to Ujjaini Mahakali Ammavaru is celebrated in Secunderabad. Known as Lashkar Bonalu, these festivities are held with great fanfare — Bonalu offerings to the goddess, vibrant processions of Palaharam carts, fortune telling, and more, lasting two days: Sunday and Monday.

Due to these celebrations, Secunderabad will be bustling with devotees, processions, political leaders, VIPs, and crowds thronging the streets. Because of this, it’s quite likely that schools, colleges, and businesses around the Ujjaini Temple may declare a holiday on Monday too. So, while Saturday and Sunday are confirmed holidays across the state, Monday might also turn out to be a holiday for those in the Secunderabad area.

However, this will ultimately depend on the decisions of education department officials, as well as private school and college managements in the region. Similarly, businesses will decide if their staff get the day off. So, it should be considered an official holiday only once formal announcements are made.

When is the Bonalu holiday across Telangana?

Hyderabad city celebrates Bonalu on the Sunday following Secunderabad’s Bonalu, which falls on July 20. On that day, temples are beautifully decorated, the streets echo with the beat of drums, and girls and boys carry Bonalu in colorful processions. Residents invite relatives and friends to feast on traditional dishes like goat or chicken curry, while men celebrate in their own spirited ways.

Marking the occasion, the Telangana government has declared an official holiday on Monday, July 21. Schools, colleges, and offices across the state will remain closed. So, it’s not just Hyderabad — the entire state gets to celebrate this festival with joy and togetherness.
