‘He’s Forging Peace’: Netanyahu Nominates Trump for Nobel Peace Prize at White House Dinner

Netanyahu’s Surprise Nomination

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu nominated Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize during a private dinner at the White House. He personally handed Trump a copy of the nomination letter addressed to the Nobel Committee. The letter praises Trump’s role in advancing peace across multiple regions.

Netanyahu spoke warmly about Trump’s leadership. “He’s forging peace as we speak, in one country, in one region after another,” he said. He called the nomination “well deserved” and said Trump enjoys admiration from Israelis, the global Jewish community, and many others around the world.

Trump Reacts for ‘Peace’ Nomination

Trump appeared surprised by the gesture. Holding the letter, he thanked Netanyahu for the honor. “This I didn’t know wow. Thank you very much,” he said. “Coming from you.. this is very meaningful.”

He opened the evening by welcoming Netanyahu and his wife, Sara. Trump called them “longtime friends” and said they had achieved “tremendous success together.” He added, “I think it will only grow even greater in the future.”

The dinner took place in a cordial atmosphere, filled with praise and political symbolism. Both leaders emphasized their past collaborations and mutual respect.

Pakistan’s Earlier Nomination

Earlier in June, Pakistan also nominated Trump for the 2026 Peace Prize. Officials credited him with helping defuse tensions during a brief standoff with India. They said Trump’s behind-the-scenes role helped restore calm. The nomination brought mixed reactions but was formally accepted by the Nobel Committee.

Iran Talks Scheduled

Trump confirmed that Iran has asked for direct talks. He said the U.S. agreed after recent airstrikes on Iranian nuclear sites. “We have scheduled Iran talks, and they want to talk,” he said. Envoy Steve Witkoff added the talks could happen within a week.

Ukraine War Concerns

Trump also spoke about the Russia–Ukraine war. He called it “a horrible thing” and criticized Russian President Vladimir Putin.  “Thousands of people are dying every week Russians, Ukrainians,” Trump said. “I hate to see people killed.”

A Bid for Peace in a Divided World

With nominations now coming from both Israel and Pakistan, Trump finds himself at the center of a renewed global peace narrative. While reactions remain mixed, the endorsements highlight his continuing influence in international politics.

Whether the Nobel Committee will accept the nomination is uncertain. But the message is clear, Trump’s role in shaping global diplomacy has not gone unnoticed
