Siraj Fined 15% Match Fee: Mohammed Siraj received one demerit point and a 15% match fee fine on Monday for his aggressive reaction after dismissing England opener Ben Duckett on day four of the third Test at Lord’s.
The Indian pacer breached Article 2.5 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which prohibits “language, actions or gestures which disparage or could provoke an aggressive reaction from a batter upon dismissal.” Siraj, who has taken four wickets in the Test, dismissed Duckett for 12 runs during England’s second innings on Sunday and gave him a fiery send-off, even making shoulder contact with the batter as he walked off. England was bowled out for 192 in 62.1 overs, setting India a target of 193. At stumps on day four, India stood at 58/4, needing 135 more runs to win with six wickets in hand.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has fined Mohammed Siraj 15 percent of his match fee for breaching the ICC Code of Conduct during the India vs England Test match at Lord’s. According to the official statement, Siraj celebrated aggressively near Ben Duckett after dismissing him and made contact with the batter as Duckett began walking back to the Lord’s long room.
The ICC also added one demerit point to Siraj’s disciplinary record, marking it as his second offence in 24 months. This brings his total to two demerit points. Under ICC rules, a player faces a suspension once they accumulate four or more demerit points within a two-year period, which then converts into suspension points. Earlier in the match, Siraj had also dismissed top-order batter Ollie Pope for four runs, reducing England to 42 for 2. His fiery send-off to Duckett stood out on day four, which saw 14 wickets fall and emotions run high on both sides.
