Meta Deletes 10 Million Facebook Account: Meta has removed 10 million Facebook accounts so far in 2025 as part of its efforts to prevent spamming and content plagiarism.
Meta said the move is part of a broader effort to make Facebook pages more honest, authentic, and relevant. As part of this, Meta announced more measures to promote original content. Meta also announced a new system to detect plagiarism.
Meta is taking strict measures to make the Facebook feed honest. Meta officials said that from now on, only original content will be given importance. They are primarily doing this to prevent the continuous posting of unoriginal or other content creators’ content without giving them adequate credit. We support resharing content, with or without comments. However, Meta clarified in a blog post that it is not acceptable to post other people’s content directly to the feed without their permission or credit. Meta has announced strong measures to combat the continuous posting of videos, images, and texts posted by other people without credit.
Not only will plagiarists be removed from Facebook’s monetization program, Meta has also warned that it will reduce the reach of their posts. The officials explained that if Meta’s system detects plagiarized videos on Facebook, it will reduce the reach of the plagiarized video to give the original creators the visibility they deserve. Meta’s blog post also says that it is trying to test the method of displaying the link to the original video along with duplicate videos. If this is implemented, you will be able to see the disclaimer “Original by” at the bottom of each video.
Meta has also issued suggestions, including posting original content, providing proper titles and hashtags, and avoiding watermarks from third-party apps to get more visibility for your content. YouTube also recently announced a policy to encourage original content. In its revised monetization policy, YouTube officials insist that it will not pay for copied content.
