The point of attraction comes at this temple. Thousands of devotees donning their radiant traditional dresses carrying “bonam” pots to the goddess throng into the temple. Also, due to its history, colorful atmosphere, and the pompousness of the procession, it already remains one of the prime places to visit in Bonalu.
The grandest Lal Darwaza Bonalu procession is celebrated within this temple, one of Hyderabad’s oldest temples. It’s then adorned and much cultural performance alongside the time-honored ritual taking place in the temple.
3. Sri Akkanna Madanna Temple, Haribowli
This temple is known for its unique Bonalu celebrations with very elaborate drumming, rituals, and offerings. It is one of the prominent cultural landmarks in the Old City during Bonalu.
This temple is said to be the birthplace of the Bonalu tradition: here is made the first offering during the season. The visit to this temple is indeed special, due to its serene aura and picturesque setting in the historical Golconda Fort.
