Special Ticket Portal for MPs: Indian Railways has began a crucial step towards digitalization of online ticket booking portal for Members of Parliament (MPs). This initiative is going to reduce the time for MPs to stand in long queues or make reservations over phone calls. This intiative is going to help the ministers to travel easily and also ensuring hassle free journeys.

Special Portal for MPs: 

Members of the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha frequently travel for official duties. Until now, they booked train tickets through the IRCTC website or at railway counters. With the launch of this exclusive portal, MPs can now reserve and cancel tickets independently, saving both time and effort.

Railway Ministry Statement

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, while responding to a question by Congress MP MK Raghavan in the Lok Sabha on July 23, confirmed that the ministry is developing special software for current and former MPs. This platform will allow them to book or cancel tickets online at their convenience.

Special Travel Privileges for MPs

Indian Railways allows MPs to travel anywhere in India for free in First Class AC or Executive Class. Their spouses are also eligible for the same privilege. Additionally, one accompanying person receives a free AC 2-tier pass. MPs’ spouses can travel from their hometown to Delhi any number of times, irrespective of Parliament sessions.

Key Features of the New Portal

With this new portal, MPs can book tickets using their mobile phones or laptops within minutes. This reduces the time for standing in queues and gives a prompt solution if having any issues.

RailOne App Expands Digital Services

Indian Railways also launched the RailOne app, developed by the Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS), to enhance passenger convenience. Key features include:

⦿ Live train tracking
⦿ E-catering orders
⦿ Porter booking
⦿ Grievance redressal services

The MP-exclusive portal is part of this broader digital transformation initiative.

Travel Just a Click Away:
The railway minister, Ashwini Vaishnaw, has decided to give a hassle-free ticket booking for MPs with the help of this portal. Government is also planning to start a 24*7 coustmer support helpline for MPs. This customer support initiative is going to resolve the problem as soon as possible for the MPs, which gives a hassle-free travel experience. As this digital improvement is going on for MPs, passengers all over the country are also expecting a similar kind of service and importance to them.
