The BCCI will officially host the Asia Cup 2025 in the United Arab Emirates. The tournament, set for a September window, will run for just over two weeks. India will likely play all its matches in Dubai. Sources within the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) confirmed the decision, with a formal announcement expected soon.
The final call came during a major ACC meeting, attended by representatives from all 25 member nations. BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla joined virtually. He will soon brief the board on the developments. BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia confirmed the news but urged fans to wait for an official release.
The match schedule remains under discussion. However, the Asia Cup must conclude before India’s Test series against the West Indies starts in late September. ACC chairman and PCB head Mohsin Naqvi added that final discussions are ongoing and all member boards remain united.
Sources revealed that due to BCCI’s influence, only two out of ten agenda items were addressed during the session. While fans await confirmation, the possibility of an India vs Pakistan clash has already started building hype.
India’s August tour to Bangladesh is likely cancelled. Sources close to the BCCI say the government has advised against the trip due to ongoing instability in Bangladesh. The tour included three ODIs beginning August 17 and three T20Is from August 26.
The BCCI will release an official statement soon. India last toured Bangladesh in 2024 and remained unbeaten in that series. The cancellation could affect team preparations, but focus now shifts to the Asia Cup.
