Operation Mahadev: 3 Suspected Terrorists Behind Pahalgam Attack Killed

Operation Mahadev: In response to information on potential terrorist activity in the area, security forces in Jammu and Kashmir began a significant anti-terror operation in the Lidwas area near Dara on Monday. Three terrorists have been killed in a fierce shootout, the Chinar Corps of the Indian Army said in a statement. The operation is still ongoing. According to defense sources, the fight started about 11:00 AM.

Regarding the identities of the terrorists who were killed, SSP Srinagar GV Sundeep Chakravarty stated that all three were members of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and were Pakistanis. He did not, however, confirm that they were involved in the Pahalgam incident at this time. “We are determining that and identifying them,” Chakravarty continued.

When contact was made with suspected militants as part of the ongoing “Operation Mahadev,” the security forces previously provided updates. “The operation is currently underway,” the Army stated, adding that further forces have been sent in to help with the ground action.
