Elon Musk’s vision for a retro-futuristic diner has officially come to life in Los Angeles. Located on Santa Monica Boulevard, the highly anticipated Tesla Diner opened its doors on July 14, 2025. The diner blends vintage Americana with cutting-edge technology, offering an unforgettable dining experience.
Musk first teased the idea in 2018, envisioning an “old-school drive-in” at a Tesla Supercharger station. Fast forward to today, and the Tesla Diner is the realization of that dream, complete with drive-in movie screenings and Tesla’s signature futuristic touch. Musk shared his excitement on X (formerly Twitter), calling the diner “one of the coolest spots in LA!”
At the Tesla Diner, guests can place food orders directly through their car’s touchscreen. While they wait, they can enjoy a 45-foot drive-in movie with audio syncing perfectly to Tesla’s surround sound system. The menu features classic American comfort foods like burgers, wings, and milkshakes, served in Cybertruck-inspired containers for that extra futuristic flair.
Inside, Tesla’s humanoid robot, Optimus, serves popcorn and interacts with visitors, adding an extra layer of tech innovation to the experience. The second floor includes a rooftop dining area, offering a relaxed atmosphere and panoramic views of the city.
