Despondently in an interview, both lead actors gave some hope to the fans but stopped at giving a confirmation.

When asked about the possibility of a Thalaivan Thalaivii 2, Vijay Sethupathi smiled and replied, “First watch the first part. Then we will think about making the sequel. Me and Nithya Menen will talk to director Pandiraj.” His statement suggests that should the audience happen to accept the making of the first part, then they will certainly explore the option of continuing on with the story.

In a similar vein to Vijay’s comments, Nithya Menen referenced that the sequel had already been lightly discussed among the group: “We all pitched each idea for the film,” she said, emphasizing that the story could hold the possibility for further development.
