Most Devastating Incidents in India 2025: For atypically grim, the year 2025 appears to be just what it is for India, with a series of disastrous incidents that have rocked the nation-from stampedes and terrorist attacks to factory accidents and natural calamities, as if the universe is sending a wake-up call.
On January 29, the sacred Kumbh Mela at Prayagraj became tragic as thousands perished in a stampede, which had turned out into a spiritual gathering gone awry through overcrowding and poor crowd management.
February 15 was marked with twin disasters-a high-traffic hour stampede occurring at the Delhi railway station in an SUV that met with a horrific accident at Prayagraj; both events resulted in massive casualties from what should be grave concerns about infrastructure and safety.
At a chemical factory in Gujarat on April 1, a large boiler exploded and then unleashed a fire that raged and trapped some workers while well over a dozen perished, which pointed to continuous gross violations of industrial safety norms.
