IRCTC Launches Last-Minute Ticket Booking for Vande Bharat Express

IRCTC Launches Last-Minute Ticket Booking:

Indian Railways has launched a new feature. Passengers can now book Vande Bharat Express tickets online. They can do this just 15 minutes before the train departs. This change helps last-minute travelers. Earlier, they had to stand in long queues. Some even missed out on available seats. This update makes booking easier and faster. The service, currently available in the Southern Railway zone, includes trains operating in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh. It aims to provide greater flexibility, especially for those traveling on short notice.

IRCTC Launches Last-Minute Ticket Booking:

Before this change, once a Vande Bharat train departed its origin station, further bookings were not allowed, even if there were empty seats at intermediate stations. This restriction has now been lifted for a few selected routes, making it easier for commuters to book their tickets in real-time.

This facility is available for eight Vande Bharat Express trains, including routes like Mangaluru to Thiruvananthapuram and Chennai to Nagercoil. With this update, Indian Railways aims to maximize seat occupancy and reduce passenger inconvenience, especially in the case of last-minute changes to travel plans.

To book a ticket, passengers can visit the IRCTC website or mobile app, log in or create an account, and select their travel details. After checking real-time seat availability, they can choose their preferred class and make the payment. Once completed, passengers will receive an e-ticket via SMS, email, and WhatsApp.

The new booking feature reflects Indian Railways’ effort to improve service efficiency and enhance the travel experience for passengers. While currently available on select routes, there is hope that this service will soon be extended to more areas across India.
