Indian Railways has launched a new app called “Rail One” to make train travel more enjoyable. This app not only helps with booking tickets and checking PNR status, but also offers a great feature—free access to movies and web series during your journey. The app is available for download on Google Play Store and Apple App Store.

One of the main highlights of this new app is the free OTT content available for passengers. This is especially useful for travelers who face issues like running out of data or poor network connections. Thanks to the free Wi-Fi available in trains, passengers can stream content from the app without any extra charges. The app offers a variety of content in different languages, including movies, documentaries, and entertainment shows.

In the past, passengers had to use multiple apps to book tickets, check reservation status, and order food. However, “Rail One” combines all these services into one platform, making it easier for passengers to access everything in a single place.

For the upcoming festival season, Indian Railways has also introduced a “Round Trip Package” scheme. This allows passengers to book both departure and return tickets together and get a 20% discount on the return ticket. This offer is available for all types of trains, including special trains. The scheme will be available from August 14, 2025, and the first trip will be between October 13 and 26, 2025. The return trip can be taken between November 17 and December 1, 2025. The discount is available only if both tickets are in the same class and are booked in a single transaction.

The initiative aims to reduce congestion during the festive season and encourage passengers to make early reservations. According to Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, this will also help reduce travel costs and enhance the convenience of rail passengers.
