Netflix is set to reveal the first look of Aryan Khan’s highly anticipated directorial debut, The Ba**ds of Bollywood*, on August 20 at a special event in Mumbai. The project marks the official filmmaking debut of Shah Rukh and Gauri Khan’s son.
Co-written by Aryan Khan, Bilal Siddiqi, and Manav Chauhan, the series follows an ambitious outsider and his friends navigating the chaotic and glamorous world of Bollywood. While the release date remains under wraps, production is in full swing under Red Chillies Entertainment, with Gauri Khan as producer and Bonnie Jain and Akshat Verma as executive producers.
Casting details are still top secret. However, buzz suggests Mona Singh plays a major role, while Bobby Deol and Ranbir Kapoor may appear in key parts. Cameos by Salman Khan, Ranveer Singh, and Karan Johar are also rumored.
Casting director Karan Mally revealed Aryan’s hands-on approach. “He’s very particular. Every character matters to him, no matter how big or small,” Mally said. “It was a long process with a lot of auditions—it had many characters, and Aryan had a clear vision for each.”

Actor Manish Chaudhari, part of the series, praised Aryan’s focus. “He came in with clarity and youthful energy,” he shared. “He has a strong foundation in filmmaking, and the result is something we’ll see soon.”
At just 26, Aryan Khan is entering the industry with high expectations and a powerful backing team. With the trailer expected soon, The Ba**ds of Bollywood* could be one of Netflix’s biggest Indian originals yet.
