As UPI (Unified Payments Interface) gains popularity in India, credit card users are also jumping on the digital payments bandwagon. You can now make UPI payments using your credit card, and it’s easier than you might think. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to link your credit card to UPI and start making payments.


Link Your Credit Card with UPI:

1. Install a UPI App
To use UPI, you first need to install a UPI-enabled app like BHIM (Bharat Interface for Money) or any other UPI-supported app. These apps allow you to link your credit card for digital payments.

2. Link Your Credit Card to UPI
Once you have the UPI app installed, open it and go to the “Add Payment Method” section. Here, you can select the option to add a credit card. Enter your credit card details, including the card number, CVV, and expiry date. After this, you’ll receive a one-time password (OTP) on your registered mobile number for verification.

3. Create a UPI ID
After linking your credit card, you need to create a UPI ID. Make sure your UPI ID is unique and contains a combination of letters and symbols.

4. Make Payments Using Your Credit Card
Now that your credit card is linked, you can make payments by scanning a QR code or choosing the “Pay via Phone Number” or “Pay via Contacts” option. Enter the amount and your UPI PIN to complete the transaction.

Currently, 22 banks in India support UPI payments via Rupay credit cards. These include:

Punjab National Bank
Union Bank of India
HDFC Bank
ICICI Bank
SBI Cards
Yes Bank
Axis Bank
Kotak Mahindra Bank, and many more.

Which Apps Support UPI Payments with Credit Cards?
You can make UPI payments using your credit card through popular apps like:


BHIM
PhonePe
Google Pay (GPay)
Paytm
PayZapp

By linking your credit card to UPI, you can enjoy the ease and convenience of digital payments without using your debit card or cash. Just ensure timely payments to avoid any interest charges.
