PM Modi Independence Day Speech: Highlights from Red Fort Address

PM Modi Independence Day Speech: This Prime Minister Narendra Modi exclaimed at the historic Red Fort to his fellow citizens on the 79th Independence Day of India as an understandably bittersweet celebration, but with a strong warning: “India will protect its sovereignty in respect to terrorism and nuclear threats against its citizens.”

Nuclear Threats Warning

PM Modi then stated that India is not going to take nuclear threats from any country. He went on further and stammered that national security should not be bargained. Well, our defense capability is stronger and the armed forces can proportionately respond to any provocation. Thus, this statement was basically a dual statement-basic deterrence and assurance to the Indian people.

Terrorism Condemnation and Greatness

The Prime Minister declared that India would consider the terrorists and their backers as one. Any future cross-border sponsored terrorist attempts would invite very strong and retributive action. Of course, he was mentioning incidents relating to violence across the border.

Operation Sindoor: a Marker of Determination

PM Modi spoke about the national outrage that followed the incidents in Pahalgam where innocent civilians were shot after interrogation over their religion. He termed Operation Sindoor “a payback of national outrage.” He said that the forces went deep behind enemy lines, dismantled terrorist infrastructure, and did damage so huge that details are still emerging.

Empowering Defense and Energy Sector

In terms of security, he even said that the private sector would be allowed to participate in the nuclear energy program, which is a strategic step of opening doors toward making India secure in energy and increasing its technological capability.

It paid homage to the heroes of Operation Sindoor, condemned terrorism, and laid down strategic plans for defense and energy; thus reaffirming India’s commitment to peace through strength. The message was clear-Indians seek peace but will act firmly against any threats to their integrity and security.
