The Indian Navy has launched a new recruitment campaign to hire skilled civilian workers. This is a significant opportunity for candidates who have undergone vocational or technical training. This recruitment exercise will enlist 1,266 Civilian Tradesman Skilled personnel in a variety of trades.

The Navy issued an announcement about this recruitment campaign on August 13, 2025, applications will be open until September 2, 2025. Candidates are required to apply online only through the official website.

Selected candidates will receive a salary ranging from ₹19,900 to ₹63,200/month plus allowances, dependent on the post and experience of the applicant.

Vacancy Overview

The recruitment covers a total of 1,266 posts across the different trades. Major trades include:

Auxiliary
Civil Works
Electrical
Electronics and Gyro
Heat Engines
Ship Building
Weapon Electronics

Selected candidates will be posted in any of the naval commands across India.

Eligibility Requirements

Candidates must meet one of the following criteria:

Passed 10th standard, with an ITI (Industrial Training Institute) with all prescribed training in that trade.
Completed the apprenticeships at the shipyard associated with Naval Yard Apprentice Schools.
A minimum of 2 years’ technical service in the Army, Navy, or Air Force.
Age Limit: 18 to 25 years as of September 2, 2025. Age relaxation as per Government rules.

Selection Process

The selection process consists of the following stages:

Application Screening: The officials will review the documents and confirm the eligibility of the candidates.
Written Examination: Candidates will answer a series of questions based on trade knowledge and general aptitude.
Skill or Trade Test: The candidates on the shortlist will need to demonstrate competency in a variety of practical exercises in a respective field of training.
Document Verification: The Navy will require the certificates and records of the shortlist.
Medical Examination: The candidate(s) that are selected after the skill or trade test candidate(s) will undergo a medical examination to demonstrate fitness for naval service.

The selection process was conducted through a variety of activities to ensure only the most competent and fit and proper persons would join the Navy.
