IRCTC Ticket Cancellation Charges 2025:

1. Cancellation Charges for AC, Sleeper, and Tatkal Tickets:

The cancellation charges depend on the type of ticket and how much time is left before the journey. Here’s a breakdown of cancellation charges based on the time of cancellation:

For cancellations made 48 hours before departure:

AC First Class / Executive Class: ₹240 +GST

2 Tier AC / First Class: ₹200 + GST

AC 3 Tier / Chair Car / 3AC Economy: ₹180 + GST

Sleeper Class: ₹120

Second Class: ₹60

For cancellations made between 48 hours and 12 hours before departure:

A 25% charge on the ticket price is levied (with a minimum charge applicable), and GST applies to AC categories.

For cancellations made between 12 hours and 4 hours before departure:

A 50% charge on the ticket price is levied, and GST applies to AC categories.

For cancellations made within 4 hours of departure:

No refund is given for cancellations made less than 4 hours before departure.

2. Special Conditions for Tatkal Tickets:

Tatkal tickets, which are booked at the last minute, have higher cancellation charges. If a Tatkal ticket is canceled, a minimum of 25% of the ticket price will be deducted, along with applicable GST.
