Delhi CM Rekha Gupta: On Wednesday, a man allegedly attacked Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta at her official house in Civil Lines. A citizen of Rajkot, Gujarat, named Rajesh Bhai Sakariya, has been identified as the assailant. According to some stories, Sakariya loves dogs, and his relative is being held at Tihar Jail in Delhi.

According to media sources, the attacker’s mother informed the police that he was angry with the Supreme Court’s recent decision to move stray dogs to shelters in Delhi-NCR. His youngster was mentally unstable, she added.

The attacker may or may not have attacked Rekha Gupta because she was accused by animal lovers of organizing a campaign against stray dogs. Rekha Gupta and senior BJP politician Vijay Goel have been under fire from some animal activists on social media and at demonstrations in the nation’s capital ever since the Supreme Court decided to move street dogs to shelters. Even though Gupta had applauded the Supreme Court’s first ruling when it was announced, she recently asked officials to hold off on making any severe decisions involving community canines until the top court issues its final ruling, which is still pending.

Attack on Delhi CM: Complete Details
According to some other stories, Sakariya wanted his relative, who was incarcerated in Tihar Jail, to be released. The precise cause of the incident is being looked at by the authorities. The perpetrator yelled at Gupta, smacked her, and started mistreating her, according to IANS. Before allegedly assaulting the chief minister, Sakariya allegedly gave her some documents and mentioned a court matter. According to the news agency, he allegedly slapped her and yanked her hair. The Delhi CM’s security team apprehended the 41-year-old man right away.

After being taken to the hospital, Gupta is now under a doctor’s observation. Following the event, senior Delhi Police officers arrived at the chief minister’s official residence. At Gupta’s house, security has been increased. A thorough investigation of the situation has been started.
