State Funeral for CPI Leader Suravaram:
Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy is a prominent leader of the Communist Party of India (CPI) and former Member of Parliament. He passed away recently at the age of 75 due to age-related health issues. The Telangana Chief Minister, A. Revanth Reddy has announced that Suravaram’s last rites will be conducted with full state honours recognizing his contribution to the political landscape.
Suravaram’s mortal remains will be moved from the Care Hospital in Gachibowli to Makhdoom Bhavan in Himayatnagar on the morning of August 24, 2025. From 10 AM to 3 PM, the public will have the opportunity to pay their respects to the late leader. Party members, workers, supporters, and citizens will visit Makhdoom Bhavan to honour his legacy.
At 3 PM, the funeral procession will begin from Makhdoom Bhavan and move to Gandhi Medical College. The authorities will hand over Suravaram’s body for medical research. The Telangana Police will give a formal salute to his remains before the procession continues. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, former Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu, and several leaders from various political parties will attend the final journey.
This gesture by the Chief Minister is a mark of respect to Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy, who was widely regarded for his role in the CPI and his unwavering commitment to public service.
