Heavy Rain Alert For AP and Telangana:

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heavy rain alert for Andhra Pradesh and Telangana for the next two days. A low-pressure area has formed in the Bay of Bengal near Odisha. It is expected to become stronger in the next 24 hours. Because of this, several districts in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana will receive heavy to very heavy rainfall.

In Andhra Pradesh, the north coastal districts will receive very heavy rain in some places. These include Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, and East Godavari. Other districts like Krishna, Eluru, Guntur, and Palnadu may see moderate rainfall. Officials have warned fishermen not to go for fishing till Friday. People in low-lying areas should be alert as water levels may rise due to continuous rain.

The Disaster Management Authority has asked the public to stay indoors during heavy rain and avoid traveling unless necessary. They have also said that there might be flooding in some areas. People should keep emergency numbers ready and follow updates from the weather department.

Telangana will also experience heavy rainfall during the next two days. Districts like Adilabad, Nizamabad, Khammam, Mahabubnagar, and Warangal will receive thunderstorms with lightning and winds blowing at 40 km per hour. On Wednesday, more districts like Karimnagar, Jagtial, and Rajanna Sircilla will also have heavy rainfall.

The IMD has warned about possible damage to crops and power supply interruptions due to strong winds. Farmers are advised to take precautions to protect their crops and livestock. Urban areas may face waterlogging, so authorities are working to clear drainage systems.

People are advised to carry umbrellas or raincoats and avoid open fields during lightning. Do not stand under trees when there is a thunderstorm. Stay safe and follow the official weather updates.
