Suicide Bomber Attack in Pakistan:
Pakistan witnessed a series of deadly attacks on Tuesday, leaving at least 25 people dead and many others injured. One of the major incidents occurred in Balochistan, where a suicide bomber targeted a political rally of the Balochistan National Party (BNP) in Quetta. The explosion happened in the parking area of a stadium where hundreds of party members had gathered. According to officials, 14 people lost their lives in this blast, and several others were critically injured. Party chief Akhtar Mengal had just left the venue before the attack and later confirmed his safety on social media.
Balochistan, Pakistan’s largest province, is rich in natural resources but remains one of the country’s poorest regions. The BNP has been demanding more rights and economic development for the Baloch people. Despite large investments from China under the One Belt One Road initiative, locals claim they have not benefited from these projects.
On the same day, another attack in Balochistan near the Iranian border killed five paramilitary soldiers. A roadside bomb exploded as their convoy passed through the area. No group has claimed responsibility for these attacks yet.
In a separate incident, six soldiers died in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province after a suicide attack on a paramilitary base in Bannu. Militants rammed an explosives-filled vehicle into the camp’s gate, followed by five more attackers who entered the base. A fierce gun battle continued for 12 hours before security forces killed all attackers. The group Ittehad-ul-Mujahideen Pakistan claimed responsibility for this assault.
Pakistan has been facing increasing violence in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. According to reports, more than 430 people have been killed this year alone, most of them security personnel. The government continues to struggle with armed groups that have been active in these regions for more than a decade.
